To calculate the effectiveness of a material as an absorber, the two most important factors are load or PSI (pounds per square inch) and the frequency of the vibration.

(4) We stock our custom blended neoprene for leveling and aligning critical equipment. We can custom cut shims to any size up to 22” x 40” in our Shore A 70+/- Durometer and slightly larger in our Shore A 55+/- Durometer. These shims cost less than conventional metal shims and can be stacked to achieve the proper height required. As a rule, metal shims do not increase the vibration isolation and dampening properties.
